Email marketing is dead – NOT!

You better believe it :) It's important to make sure you turn visitors to your website into email subscribers, period. I'm seeing a lot of talk about email being dead and the latest flavor of the day seems to be Facebook messenger. To be honest, right now I can't stand FB messenger! I have it on my cell phone and I find it clumsy, confusing and not at all intuitive. That said, there are still many things on Facebook itself that remain a mystery to my (highly logical) brain. But, putting all personal prejudice aside, there is good reason, very good reason, to double down on building your email list. Are your visitors leaving without meeting you? I read a blog post on Wealthy Affiliate today that struck a chord (I'm a premium member) and I wanted to share it with you. The author asked the question "Are your visitors leaving without meeting…

A critically important affiliate marketing website tip

Important information about content for your affiliate marketing website You know you need amazing written content for your affiliate marketing website, but WHAT KIND of content do you need? It's a critical question because if you think any old content will do you're wrong! Worse still, you'll be wasting a ton of effort, possibly money and certainly your time. To understand what works today to bring in affiliate sales, we first need to look at how affiliate marketing website content has changed in recent years, let me explain... The good old days of affiliate marketing websites A few years ago, you could throw up any old content and as long as it included some target keywords, Google would find it, you'd get visitors and likely make a sale or two. Since then, two things have changed dramatically: The Google algorithm (how it ranks the quality of your content). Your potential customers' maturity.…

Successful entrepreneur tips – your mental health

One of my more important successful entrepreneur tips If you're reading this, it's highly likely you want to make it online, earn a full-time income and even quit your job. Throughout my website, I provide you with a host of "successful entrepreneur tips" that can help you do just that. However, there are some potential issues you need to be aware of as you start to see success, let me explain. There's an entrepreneur on YouTube I loosely follow by the name of Greg Preece. I say loosely because although he's a successful affiliate marketer he was following a direction last year that I could see might be unsustainable in the long run (Merch by Amazon). That said, he got himself to a stage where he was regularly earning $3,000 or so a month of passive income which is a great achievement. Greg was posting to YouTube virtually every day, uploading hundreds…

What successful people do differently

There are reasons why some people achieve success while others want it but never achieve it. I believe you can boil much of the difference down to certain traits successful people have while those that struggle to break through are missing these important characteristics. Action takers Successful entrepreneurs tend to be action takers who have an idea and run with it. They don't overanalyze the situation (paralysis by analysis) but forge ahead no matter what. Often, they won't listen to advice from others who doubt their ideas or direction and that can be a good thing. In my experience, most of the would-be advisors are not in a position to give advice in any case because they're giving advice on something they don't really understand (working online). There's so much opportunity to make money online in our digital age that never existed 20 years ago. You simply need to take action, tap…

Sack your boss before it’s too late!

I came across this post on Quora today and it reminded me of just how much I hated working for companies and the dreaded boss! THE QUORA POST This poor sod is doing everything right and the boss still wants to cut his salary due to "budget restrictions". What kind of BS is that? In the past, I've worked for major corporates such as IBM, Fujitsu, and Xerox, and do I miss it - not at all. Okay, the steady money and perks were good, but the jumping through hoops and trying to be the corporate animal I wasn't was painful. On top of this, there is a definite ceiling to what you can achieve and earn in a given job role. PLUS You're ultimately at the mercy of the company - look at this guy who's probably going to have to look for another job through no fault of his…

What is Builderall about - why should you even care?   Okay, so I don't want this to be the same old boring product review type post you can read anywhere else. Staying healthy – a simple trick that worked for me

As entrepreneurs, it's all too easy to neglect our health. Long spells at the keyboard, even longer days (14 hours are not unusual) and a lack of exercise can all take their toll. The thing is, when you work such long hours, you can fool yourself into believing you're being productive when the exact opposite is actually true. Eventually, it will catch up with you, your productivity will drop, and your health may even suffer. So, take regular breaks, try to work reasonable hours and get out in the fresh air regularly - even if it's for a short time over lunch. Many hours at my desk eventually took its toll In my case, overwork and too many hours spent hunched over the keyboard eventually took its toll. I got back pain so bad, after only half an hour at my desk, I could barely stand up and shuffle to the kitchen…

You’re unstoppable – believe it!

The importance of persistence & continuous self-improvement There are quite a few quotes that give me inspiration when I work online, here are a couple of my favorites. The first is by Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States: "Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not: unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent" Think about this and relate it to your own online journey, it makes sense, right? You'll always face challenges when you work online, that's a given. But what separates the winners from the losers, the successful from the unsuccessful, those who make it from those who give up just before they do is PERSISTENCE. When I did some off-road motorbiking (I come from tarmac, so it…

How to make money with freelancing – Tip

Let’s be brutally honest here, we’re all guilty of not paying attention to essential housekeeping tasks in our copywriting businesses from time-to-time. We're so focused on how to make money with freelancing that we tend to forget how important it is to control our business properly. Plus, life’s hectic and it gets in the way. I get that, it happens to me regularly. That said, there’s one area you really shouldn’t be neglecting and that’s keeping your portfolio updated with all your current literary masterpieces. Again, I admit to being complicit in not doing just this. Well, the other day I decided I’d delayed it long enough and got stuck in. I have to say I was amazed by what I discovered! Here's my tip of the day! If you’re like me, you’ve probably written lots (and I mean lots) of articles for freelance clients on all kinds of weird and wonderful…
