Dominate affiliate marketing online

Is it really possible?

Do you want to dominate affiliate marketing online in your chosen niche?

If you do, you need to pay attention to the small details that give you the edge over your competition – that’s the key to real domination in affiliate marketing online and the good news is, it’s not that difficult.

I won’t go through the basics of affiliate marketing online, I’ll just kind of lay it out quickly but I’m not going to dive deep because that’s not what I want to talk about today, I want to talk a little bit about how you bridge the gap and build a strong relationship with people, connect with them, because they’re real people, not just an email addresses.

I’m going to show you the little tricks I do in my business that really help me to sell products. So, understand that when you sell affiliate products there are a few things you need. You need traffic, you need a capture page, you need an autoresponder and you need an offer – you need something to sell.

The first thing you need is a product to sell

So, the first thing you need for affiliate marketing online is a product to sell. You also need to drive traffic to your capture page; you must collect email addresses with your autoresponder, and then you have to sell your affiliate product. That’s the basics right there.

The second thing you need to do is email your list regularly, maybe once every 2 to 3 days. You must add a lot of value. Value-added emails could be pointing to your blog, they could be about a video, they could be about a webinar, they could be about a Facebook live session or pointing to a YouTube live stream.

I’m assuming that you’re a complete beginner, that’s why I’m going through some of the basics. But, that’s not what I want to talk about today. I just wanted to lay it out for you – you get traffic going, you collect emails to your autoresponder, you sell an offer and you build a relationship with your subscribers by emailing them on a regular basis with lots of value-driven content.

Never just sell, sell, sell

Okay, so you don’t want your content to sell, sell, sell because if you’re doing that then nobody’s going to buy from you. Why would you ever want to buy from someone who’s just trying to sell, sell, sell to you all the time?

It’s funny because I come across so many people who have been trying affiliate marketing online for years and that’s what they’ve been told to do. They’re just told to sell all the time and you know, if somebody doesn’t want to buy from you after the 20th email, the 20th sales email that is, they’re never going to want to buy from you.

Affiliate marketing online is all about attracting people towards you, magnetizing people towards you – not pushing them away. It’s pull marketing not push marketing. If you do push marketing, you’ll never be successful; you’ve got to learn to pull people towards you.

So, how do you pull people towards you? Well, you’ve got to be super cool right? You have to add something of value to their lives. They have to know, like and trust you otherwise they’ll never want to buy anything from you.

Why would I want to buy anything from somebody who’s just trying to sell me something through a random email?

So that’s something to think about – if you’re doing it please stop doing it because you’re never going to make sales that way.

Affiliate marketing online is all about focusing on your people

The third thing about affiliate marketing online I wanted to mention, which is actually what I want to talk about today, is how you get closer to your email list – this is what a lot of people don’t do.

Here are a couple of added steps, two secret tricks I want to share with you today that will help you.

I use email and Facebook messenger in a way that helps build a connection, a real relationship with my list. This is what I do.

I send an email and I make sure I’m giving my list lots of value, but I take it one step further and connect with them in a certain way with email and Facebook messenger (in order to build an even closer relationship).

Let me explain what I do.

In every single email I write I’ll say something like “PS if you loved this content just reply to this email and I’ll respond, would love to hear from you” – that’s it.

I just do a little thing like that – I tell people that if they like my stuff all they have to do is reply to this email and tell me what they’re struggling with, what they enjoy, did they have any aha moments. And guess what, when people email me, I actually reply.

Get into a routine

Every single morning the first thing I do when I wake up is I go to my email and I actually reply to people. I might receive anywhere from 5 emails to 15 emails a day, so it’s not such a crazy amount and it’s really not that much work.

That said, it’s an income-generating activity because building a relationship with your people, with your potential customers, is time well spent.

What do you think happens when you respond to somebody’s email? Well, they’re freaking shocked first of all because 99% of internet marketers do not respond to their lists – they don’t reply to emails! I don’t know if you’ve ever tried it but if you’ve ever written an email to an internet marketer you’ll know that most are not going to respond to you.

If you do happen to get a response, then that internet marketer is doing a very, very good job.

So, that’s why I take the time to do it because I think it’s the right thing to do. I care about my customers and I want them to get results and it’s also great for your business because you’re building real relationships.

Never forget you’re dealing with real people

Remember, an email address is a real person with real problems, with real troubles, with real stories and you won’t believe how many times people have written me a full email telling me their entire life story. How they’re struggling, about how they can’t pay their bills or how their husband is working in a corporate job and they’re 60 years old and they don’t want to be working for the next 30 years because they can’t put food on the table

I hear some heart-breaking stories, but you should remember that behind every email is a real person. If you take the time to reply it means a lot to people. And, you know, it isn’t going to take that much time. I don’t spend hours replying to my emails, I literally take 10-15 minutes because I reply to them fairly quickly.

Normally, there’s only about 5 emails a day but it makes a massive difference. Sometimes, I’ll say something really simple like “keep up the good work” and I get some really great replies just by showing I’m prepared to take the time to respond.

Believe me, if you do this, you will stand out over the competition.

Okay so that’s trick number one, the next one concerns Facebook Messenger and I do exactly the same thing.

Inside of my emails, I’ll say something like “Hey drop me a note on Facebook Messenger here’s my link forward slash my name and let me know how you’re doing (smiley face) or something as simple as that.

What happens is that people will send me messages on Facebook Messenger and I’ll literally have a chat with them on the platform. I chat with them on my computer and I also do it on my phone – and again it doesn’t take that much time, a few minutes a day, that’s all.

Because you’re connecting with people, really connecting with them, it makes a huge, huge difference.

What do you think?

It’s very important for you guys at FYF to try these and other similar strategies if you want to make a close connection with your people.

I love this; especially where you talk about establishing a personal connection with people.

I have a personal expeience of a digital marketer whom I really wanted to hear from before I could make up my mind to buy from him.

I sent not one, not two but three emails with no response at all. Whereas I badly needed to use the product, I ended up developing cold feet and thus decided to shop elsewhere.

Your approach is unique because I am persuaded that online shoppers are very selective about where to put their money and time.

There is a common misconception about affiliate marketing as a get-rich-quickly scheme. That is why many affiliate marketers just want to sell sell and sell more without caring about the needs of their ‘buyers’.

That is not the way it works.

Understanding your buyer persona is important because you are then able to address them from their pain points. What is it that they are looking for? What are the unanswered questions that they have about the product? If you can develop relevant content around that area, the better for you. An informed buyer is always a confident buyer.

Building a personal connection is key because it develops trust which then gives you authority in your niche. It is not something that happens over night and so persistence, patience and authenticity are key here.

Good news is; good things always come to those who wait. Your efforts will eventually pay off and when it happens, you will be glad that you waited.

      Hi Godfrey,

Yes, you make some very good points here. I belive you owe it to your audience to inform them and help them make the right decisions – whether they’re decisions about which direction their business should take, what the next move in their business should be or what products they should buy that will help them.

It’s no a sprint, it’s a marathon. If you genuinely have the interests of your people at heart, they will buy what you recommend because they see the need and you’ve explained the benefits properly.

Your job is to save them time, and the possibility of making a costly mistake, by providing all the information neccessary to make an informed decision.

Personally, I have no issue buying from someone who delivers real value and helps me in my business, it just makes perfect sense.
